A Lighter Carbon Footprint
Caring for your children and caring for the planet go hand in hand. That’s why Aerloom is produced with post-consumer, recycled polyester yarns (certified by Global Recycled Standard). It’s made in small quantities to avoid excess inventory and each carrier arrives in a recyclable shipper box; no extra packaging necessary.
Ergobaby Aerloom breaks with (almost) all traditions of typical baby carriers: New sustainable material, perfect fit made from almost “one cast”, hardly bulky, breathable, modern urban style and at the same time light as a feather – with the Aerloom we give young families a new level of freedom of movement, comfort and safety.
Made from FormaKnitTM, a lightweight yet highly supportive material, the carrier is manufactured almost in one piece, so to speak, on state-of-the-art knitting machines. Ergobaby is the first manufacturer to use this technology to produce a baby carrier. This technology enables special colour gradients in the material as well as the seamless incorporation of functional zones in the back panel of the carrier: especially breathable, or especially stretchy, or especially supportive, or….
As the most innovative baby carrier in the Ergobaby range, the Aerloom is of course also designed to grow with the baby and is suitable for carrying newborns weighing 3.2 kg up to toddlers weighing 15.9 kg. The (one-time) adjustment of the carrier to newborn mode is also child’s play and another innovation in the Ergobaby carrying range. Simply thread the back panel once through the webbing at the front of the waist belt – this shortens the back panel and narrows the bar so that even the smallest babies can be carried with perfect support at the head, back, hips and legs.
Versatile carrying positions
Carrying with Aerloom means that you, as a particularly active parent, can enjoy the closeness to your child, lay a foundation for a healthy and secure bond in these important early stages of development and still have your hands free. Aerloom offers three ergonomic carrying positions depending on the baby’s stage of development, needs and preferences:
– Front carry
– Front carry in line of sight (from approx. 5 months)
– Back carry (from approx. 6 months)
Ergonomic comfort
The innovative combination of the ultra-light breathable FormaKnitTM material and the ergonomically perfectly designed fit supports the baby in a stable, secure and developmentally appropriate way when carrying in the natural tuck-and-spread position of the hips, legs and back. The carrier also fits mum and dad like a glove, because the slightly curved shoulder straps adapt flexibly to the shape of the body – whether petite or tall, whether carried on the stomach or back. The lumbar support on the waist belt provides extra carrying comfort – your back will be pleased. Of course, as with all Ergobaby carriers, breastfeeding is also possible in the Aerloom.
Sophisticated features
Using the lightweight yet supportive FormaKnitTM material, Aerloom is one of the lightest comfort carriers on the market at only 660 grams. It also has a slim pack size when not in use and fits into any diaper bag.
Extra comfort is provided by the wonderfully supple material, which thanks to its unique structure ensures optimal air circulation even on hot days. The Aerloom offers seamlessly integrated breathability in key areas of the baby carrier, making it even more pleasant and comfortable for parents and baby to be close together and on the go. The inner lining on the waist belt and back panel is made of cosy cotton (Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified), which is particularly gentle on baby’s skin.
The shoulder straps are considerably less voluminous than on other baby carriers and still ensure a comfortable weight distribution. Since they are hardly bulky, the Aerloom can also be worn comfortably under a jacket (a plus in the colder seasons).
In addition, keys or a mobile phone can be stored in the practical pocket on the waist belt.
Sustainability
The FormaKnitTM material consists of 87%* recycled polyester yarn (certified according to Global Recycled Standard). This means that approx. 26 plastic water bottles including lids* are reborn as baby carriers. Other components of the carrier such as buckles and sliders are Bluesign® certified, i.e. produced in a water- and energy-saving way and with low air emissions.
